Unique bedroom calls for fine bedding
A great change has come over the world. The night no longer signals the time to sleep. Many people take the graveyard shift. And many stores are open 24 hours a day. Strangely, the importance of the bedroom did not decrease. In fact, the concept of the bedroom has evolved. It is no longer a humble, often neglected, space in the house where people sleep. It has become a sanctuary, a place of comfort, and a place to rejuvenate. And of all rooms in the house, the bedroom is the one that best reflects the personality of the person who sleeps in it. This is because other rooms, such as kitchen and dining, are shared with other people and even with strangers. But the bedroom is different. It is personal. And therefore, it should be unique.
A unique bedroom calls for fine bedding. But before you start picking up the ones that you like, you must step back to get the overall image that you wanted for the bedroom. What do you really want? Who are you, really, without the mask and the uniform? At work, you could be projecting the stoic personality of the office manager. But deep within you, you are actually playful and sensitive. Your unique bedding should reflect the woman inside and not the personality that you show to the world. After all, you come to your bed to renew and pamper your real self, which is your real source of strength.
However, there are certain practical matters to consider in choosing the unique bedding. For example, what do you want on your bed: a bed spread, a blanket cover, a comforter, a duvet cover, or a quilt? Would you care to add a sham to your unique bedding set or not? If you like a decorative bed cover that can cover the pillows and can fall elegantly to the floor on all sides then you need a bed spread. But if you have a bed skirt which is perfect in itself, you don't want to cover it with a bed spread. You may opt for a blanket cover, which is smaller but can be as pretty and stylish. If your bed is quilted, you may prefer a comforter. And to protect the down comforter, you need to add a duvet cover. A sham is just a covering for the pillows. Some people love the royal luxury evoked by the sham while others prefer more earthly designs.
Now that you have decided the parts of the unique bedding set that you wanted, you can proceed to choosing the colors and designs. The general rule is to choose designs that will complement the rest of the bedroom. You don't want a clash of colors and you wanted a bedroom that is restful and serene. Examine the lines and color shades that are available in the stores. You may want to have the Matelasse bed covers because of the quilt-like texture. Or you may want embroidery on the corners and edges. Or you may want damask because of the jacquard designs. In choosing designs, simply remember that less is sometimes more tasteful. The smaller prints can also give the illusion of a bigger bedroom.
